Basketball Recap: Lutheran Piles Up the Points Against Rock Falls

Lutheran won the last time they faced Rock Falls and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lutheran Crusaders blew past the Rock Falls Rockets, posting a 66-22 victory. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Rockets are ranked 528th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Rock Falls saw an underclassman step up: freshman Miley Bickett posted eight points. Addison Mccallister also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.

Lutheran has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Rock Falls, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-22.

Lutheran has already played their next game, a 61-39 loss against Stillman Valley on the 31st. As for Rock Falls, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-27 defeat against Dixon on the 31st.
