Football Recap: Whetstone Braves vs. Linden-McKinley Panthers
A win for Whetstone just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They were dealt a 38-10 defeat at the hands of the Linden-McKinley Panthers. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Davell Brock had an outrageously good game for Linden-McKinley as he rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns.
Whetstone is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8. As for Linden-McKinley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Whetstone will look to defend their home field on Friday against Northland at 6:50 p.m. Northland's defense has only allowed 9.9 points per game this season, so Whetstone's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Linden-McKinley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 57-0 win against Mifflin on the 17th.
