Softball Recap: Midway Extends Winning Streak to Five

Midway had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt South View on Wednesday. The Midway Raiders never let the South View Tigers get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won five contests in a row.

Ella Clark was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Macy Raynor, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Midway's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for South View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Midway will take on Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South View, they will challenge Cape Fear at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cape Fear is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.1 runs per game this season.
