Soccer Game Preview: Oak Grove vs. Brandon

The Oak Grove Warriors and the Brandon Bulldogs will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Oak Grove's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Petal on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Panthers are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, on FridayPearl kept up with Brandon until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Brandon was the clear victor by a 6-1 margin over Pearl. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four matchups by five goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Pearl from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.

Oak Grove dropped their record down to 4-6-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Brandon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3-2.
