Basketball Recap: Fisher Catholic Takes a Loss

Fisher Catholic has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Newark Catholic Green Wave. The Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Green Wave apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

It was another big night for Dylan Daube, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds for Newark Catholic. Daube has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Miller Hutchison was another key player, putting up four points and nine boards.

Fisher Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Newark Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.

Looking ahead, Fisher Catholic is taking a road trip to square off against Tree of Life Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newark Catholic, they will host Utica at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Newark Catholic has lost four straight at home , while Utica has lost four on the road.
