Baseball Recap: Hastings Comes Up Short

Hastings was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss. They came up short against the Olivet Eagles, falling 13-0. The Saxons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Hastings saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dustin Lampart, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Hastings' loss dropped their record down to 1-26. As for Olivet, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Hastings does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Olivet, they will square off against Climax-Scotts at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
