Basketball Game Preview: Amarillo Sandies vs. Coronado Mustangs

The Amarillo Sandies will head out on the road to face off against the Coronado Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Amarillo is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

On Tuesday, Amarillo beat Palo Duro 48-38.

Meanwhile, Coronado didn't have quite enough to beat Monterey on Tuesday and fell 53-51. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amarillo's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Amarillo strolled past Coronado in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 56-38. Will Amarillo repeat their success, or does Coronado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
