Basketball Game Preview: Houston Christian Mustangs vs. Stratford Spartans

Houston Christian is on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Stratford is on a four-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Mustangs will host the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Houston Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Stratford likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, everything came up roses for Houston Christian against St. Francis Episcopal as the team secured a 93-49 victory. Fans of the Mustangs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, Stratford ended up a good deal behind Kinkaid on Saturday and lost 61-45.

Houston Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Stratford, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Houston Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Stratford in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
