After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Astronaut, Mainland was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Taylor Wildcats, sneaking past 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buccaneers have posted since February 26th.

The team relied heavily on Elijah Burgess, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February. Kholton Cost was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Mainland's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-14. As for Taylor, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mainland will square off against Matanzas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taylor, they will face off against Father Lopez at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
