Basketball Recap: Walton Skates Past Effingham County with Ease

On Saturday, the Walton Raiders were fully in charge, breezing past the Effingham County Rebels 71-28. With that win, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Walton had a senior duo take command as Alice Zhang went 7 of 16 en route to 19 points and Graycen Ehlen dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zhang has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Evie Harkey, who posted five points and six steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Walton and bumps their season record up to 8-8. As for Effingham County, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Walton has already played their next match, a 47-31 win against North Cobb on the 7th. As for Effingham County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-27 loss against Lakeside on the 7th.
