Softball Recap: Penfield Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Penfield entered their tilt with Our Lady of Mercy on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Monarchs by a score of 5-2. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly three runs.

Clare Magee looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alexi Cimino was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Young, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Penfield's record is now 4-5. As for Our Lady of Mercy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Penfield will face off against Greece Odyssey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Our Lady of Mercy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Letchworth at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
