Baseball Recap: Lincoln's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Lincoln never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Central Crossing Comets with a sharp 11-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 6-2 victory back in April.

Lincoln got a great performance from Nathan Roberts as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Aidan Piatt and Jack Baker did most of the damage at the plate: Piatt went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Baker went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Baker a new career-high. Cade Lawrence was another key player, earning two RBI and two runs.

Lincoln's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for Central Crossing, their loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-18.

Coincidentally, Lincoln and Central Crossing will both be playing Pickerington North the next time they take the field. The Comets will head out to face the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
