Softball Recap: Forest Grove Has No Trouble Against Newberg

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McMinnville, Forest Grove was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Newberg Tigers 12-5. Considering the Vikings have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Forest Grove is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Newberg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.

Coincidentally, Forest Grove and Newberg will both be playing Century the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Vikings will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
