Volleyball Recap: Southern Wells Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kaylee Davis and Sydney Alstoft

After flying high against Eastbrook on Tuesday, Southern Wells came back down to earth. The Raiders lost 3-0 to the Northfield Norsemen on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Norsemen: they've now lost nine in a row.

Southern Wells was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 25-16.

Southern Wells' loss came despite strong showings from Sydney Alstoft and Kaylee Davis. Alstoft had ten digs and two aces, while Davis had 19 digs. Alstoft is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 21 every time she's taken the court this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southern Wells fell to 2-1. As for Northfield, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Southern Wells has already played their next match (against Union City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Northfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against South Adams on the 23rd.
