Softball Recap: IC Catholic Prep Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when IC Catholic Prep and Aurora Central Catholic meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Knights lost 12-4 to the Chargers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Knights have suffered against the Chargers since April 27, 2022.

Lexi Russ made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

IC Catholic Prep's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Aurora Central Catholic, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. IC Catholic Prep will host Saint Ignatius College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolfpack have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they will be playing at home against DePaul College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
