Softball Game Preview: Astoria Fishermen vs. Seaside Seagulls

Astoria is a perfect 10-0 against Seaside since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Fishermen will head out to take on the Seagulls at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Astoria has three straight wins, Seaside has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Astoria got the win against Tillamook by a conclusive 21-5. The Fishermen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Seaside came up short against Valley Catholic on Saturday, falling 14-8.

Astoria's victory bumped their record up to 13-4-1. As for Seaside, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Astoria was able to grind out a solid win over Seaside when the teams last played back in April, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fishermen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
