Softball Game Preview: Apache Junction Prospectors vs. Globe Tigers

Apache Junction is 0-3 against Globe since April of 2025 but things could change on Monday. The Prospectors will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Apache Junction has given up an average of 18.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Apache Junction fell victim to Combs and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Coyotes, falling 20-0.

Meanwhile, Globe came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Sentinels with a sharp 9-2 win. Considering the Tigers have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ciena Encizo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

On the hitting side, Bailey Andrade was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erlynda Horta, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Apache Junction's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Globe, their record is now 18-9.

Apache Junction might still be hurting after the 19-1 loss they got from Globe when the teams last played on April 2nd. Can the Prospectors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
