Preview: Sheldon Irish vs. Grants Pass Cavemen
Sheldon and Grants Pass are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Sheldon Irish will head out on the road to challenge the Grants Pass Cavemen at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Sheldon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Grants Pass likes a good challenge.
Sheldon pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Eugene.
Meanwhile, Grants Pass pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-64 to Roseburg. While losing is never fun, Grants Pass can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Roseburg is ranked 34th).
Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Grants Pass, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.
Sheldon might still be hurting after the 58-37 loss they got from Grants Pass in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Sheldon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
