Basketball Game Preview: King Wolves vs. La Habra Highlanders

The King Wolves and the La Habra Highlanders will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. King has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with five straight losses, while La Habra will come in with ten straight wins.

King is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 26th on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Norte Vista an easy 76-54 victory. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 588th, while the Braves are ranked 226th).

Meanwhile, everything went La Habra's way against Sonora on Friday as La Habra made off with a 70-45 win. The Highlanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

La Habra's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for King, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

King suffered a grim 63-38 defeat to La Habra in their previous meeting back in November of 2018. Can King avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
