Football Recap: California Lutheran Comes Up Short

California Lutheran lost against California School for the Deaf-Riverside back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The C-Hawks had to suffer through an 88-32 loss at the hands of the Cubs. The C-Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-8.

Despite the defeat, California Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tyler Treder picked up 114 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Joel Doebler got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Morgan Hawkins produced another solid performance picking up 108 receiving yards and three TDs, while also punching in one rushing score for California School for the Deaf-Riverside.

California Lutheran has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

As of now, neither California Lutheran nor the Cubs have any future games scheduled.
