Baseball Recap: Wickenburg Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wickenburg Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Thunderbird Adventist Academy an 11-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 on Monday.

Bam Hogue made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Wickenburg Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Ross Egan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Egan has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Calden Dickinson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Wickenburg Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They are undefeated (7-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Wickenburg Christian Academy's record is now 8-2-1. As for Thunderbird Adventist Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Coincidentally, Wickenburg Christian Academy and Thunderbird Adventist Academy will both be playing Flagstaff Christian the next time they take the field. The Lion will head out to face Flagstaff Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while Thunderbird Adventist Academy will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
