Volleyball Game Preview: Pickens Blue Flame vs. Daniel Lions + Official Tickets

Pickens is on a 13-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Daniel is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Blue Flame will welcome the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

On Monday, Pickens got the win against Greer by a conclusive 3-0.

Pickens walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 25-19.

Among those leading the charge was Natalie Hunter, who had 15 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Charlee Abercombie also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

If Travelers Rest wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Daniel, they should've done a better job of containing Maleah Gibson. The Lions put the hurt on the Devildogs with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday with plenty of help from Gibson, who had 17 assists and five digs. Abercombie is also on a roll when it comes to hitting percentage, as she's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Daniel was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-11, 25-12.

Pickens' victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Daniel, their win bumped their record up to 23-7.

Pickens took their victory against Daniel in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Blue Flame have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
