Recap: McClain Tigers vs. Peebles Indians
After flying high against the Washington Blue Lions last Wednesday, the McClain Tigers came back down to earth. McClain took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians on Saturday. While losing is never fun, McClain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Indians are ranked 102nd).
Payton Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Peebles, almost dropping a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. Johnson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caydence Carroll, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
McClain's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Peebles, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McClain will face off against the Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Logan Elm is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Peebles, they will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
