St. John came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Cardinal Huskies. The Fighting Herald's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cardinal scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 25-18.

Emma Hutchins paced St. John's offense, picking up ten kills. Hutchins were helped by Breelyn Graham and Lilliana Mather, who contributed seven assists each. Sara Ducro controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. John's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Cardinal, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

St. John wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Open Door Christian on the 7th. As for Cardinal, after both having extra time off, they and Aquinas will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on the 16th.
