River Ridge and Land O' Lakes are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. River Ridge will host Land O' Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (River Ridge 3.2, Land O' Lakes 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
River Ridge gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Cypress Creek.

Brayden VanFossen was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jager Golden, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Land O' Lakes had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Wildcats.
Aiden Marsiglio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed over his last six games.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Peyton Nackers, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Brody Marks was another key player, getting three hits from his three at bats.
Land O' Lakes' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for River Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. River Ridge has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Land O' Lakes struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
River Ridge skirted past Land O' Lakes 3-2 when the teams last played on March 6th. Will River Ridge repeat their success, or does Land O' Lakes has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
