Monte Vista Christian is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Saturday. They took a 27-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Francis.

Evan Vessey put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 319 yards on 26 of 41 attempts. He has become a key player for Monte Vista Christian: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 300 passing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. A healthy portion of Vessey's aerial production (101 yards to be exact) went to Johnny Finney.

Meanwhile, Watsonville didn't have quite enough to beat San Lorenzo Valley on Saturday and fell 17-14.

Monte Vista Christian now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Watsonville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
