Basketball Recap: Bridgeport Takes a Loss

Bridgeport lost against Brewster back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bridgeport Mustangs were beaten by the Brewster Bears 83-50. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Thomas Mccarthy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brewster, dropping a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Mccarthy has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grant Baker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Bridgeport now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Brewster, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-14.

Bridgeport will host Cascade at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bridgeport is facing Cascade at the right time seeing as Cascade is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Brewster, they will head out on the road to take on Tonasket at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tonasket is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season.
