Soccer Game Preview: Tallassee vs. Elmore County

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Tallassee face off against Elmore County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Tallassee and Elmore County will really light up the scoreboard.

Tallassee will bounce into Friday's game after beating Montgomery Catholic, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Everything went Tallassee's way against Montgomery Catholic on Thursday as Tallassee made off with a 7-3 win. Considering the Tigers have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Elmore County kept a clean sheet against Booker T. Washington Magnet on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 6-0 victory. Tate McNeely was a massive factor in the win as he booted in five goals all by himself.

The win made it two in a row for Elmore County and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Tallassee, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Tallassee took their win against Elmore County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tallassee since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
