Basketball Game Preview: Waskom Wildcats vs. Joaquin Rams

The Waskom Wildcats will head out to face off against the Joaquin Rams at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waskom is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Waskom's tournament run continued when they took on Van on Friday. Waskom was beaten by Van 69-33. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 857th, while the Vandals are ranked 354th).

Meanwhile, Joaquin played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 70-34 loss at the hands of Timpson. The Rams have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Waskom's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Joaquin, they now have a losing record at 0-1.

Waskom came up short against Joaquin in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 63-58. Can Waskom avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
