Football Recap: Center Point-Urbana Takes a Loss

Center Point-Urbana lost against Independence back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Stormin' Pointers were beaten by the Mustangs 45-6. While losing is never fun, the Stormin' Pointers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 26th).

Center Point-Urbana's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Independence, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Center Point-Urbana is taking a road trip to square off against Wahlert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the Stormin' Pointers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Independence, they will take on Clear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mustangs 11.5, the Lions 7) so any points scored will be well earned.
