Volleyball Recap: Wagener-Salley Takes a Loss

Wagener-Salley's tournament run continued when they took on Andrew Jackson Academy on Saturday. The War Eagles fell 2-0 to the Warriors.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andrew Jackson Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than McKinnley Beard, who had eight kills, six aces, and one block. Beard has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 24 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Carrigg, who had 11 assists and three aces.

Wagener-Salley's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Wagener-Salley will be playing in front of their home fans against Pelion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Batesburg-Leesville on the 16th.
