While Maddie Melgoza delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Vallejo. Melgoza turned in nothing short of a gem, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
