Softball Recap: Davis Sr. Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Davis Sr. ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the St. Francis Troubadours 4-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Blue Devils as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Sofia Lester was incredible, firing off two home runs and one double while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

Lester wasn't the only one making solid contact: Davis Sr. kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Blue Devils are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Davis Sr.'s victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 11-6. As for St. Francis, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coming up, Davis Sr. will take on Folsom at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Francis, they are taking a road trip to take on Christian Brothers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Troubadours' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
