Baseball Recap: Lakeview Falls Short of Okemos in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lakeview can now relate to. They fell 7-3 to the Okemos Wolves on Thursday. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Lakeview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Another was Spencer Shotwell, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Lakeview's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Okemos, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-11 record this season.

Lakeview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Okemos, they will challenge Hartland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
