Football Game Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. East Lake Eagles

The St. Petersburg Green Devils will be playing at home against the East Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Petersburg will be strutting in after a win while East Lake will be coming in after a loss.

East Lake will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: St. Petersburg extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Green Devils came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against Gibbs.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for East Lake's offense. They took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tarpon Springs on Wednesday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

East Lake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adanya Canezo and Sienna Zaccardo.

St. Petersburg pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.5 points on average over those games. As for East Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

St. Petersburg didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against East Lake when the teams last played back in March of 2021, but they still walked away with a 14-8 victory.
