Soccer Game Preview: James F. Byrnes vs. Boiling Springs

The James F. Byrnes Rebels are taking a road trip to take on the Boiling Springs Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

James F. Byrnes managed to keep up with Eastside until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. James F. Byrnes lost 3-0 to Eastside. James F. Byrnes' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Boiling Springs was not quite Spartanburg's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 1-0.

James F. Byrnes now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Boiling Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

James F. Byrnes beat Boiling Springs by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for James F. Byrnes since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
