Baseball Recap: Cabrillo Comes Up Short

Cabrillo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Glenn Eagles. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Fernando Leanos was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Cabrillo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Glenn, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cabrillo will welcome Woodrow Wilson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give Cabrillo their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Glenn, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. Mountain View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
