Sachse has gone a perfect 10-0 against South Garland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will face off against the Titans at 6:30 p.m. Sachse is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
Sachse will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against North Garland on Monday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Raiders.
Logan Schultz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Schultz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March.
In other batting news, Maya Mcclarity was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Shelby Siratt, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Sachse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, South Garland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against North Garland, falling 20-10.
Sydney Cruz and Kimberly Rivera did some serious damage despite the final result: Cruz scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Rivera scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Alessandra Flores also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Sachse is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for South Garland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.
South Garland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sachse hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. It's a different story for South Garland, though, as they've only averaged .223. Will they be able to contain Sachse's hitters?
Sachse took their win against South Garland in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 23-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
