Softball Recap: Southfield Christian Wins Going Away Against Parkway Christian

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Southfield Christian blew past Parkway Christian 16-4. The result was nothing new for Southfield Christian, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Chloe Schoon made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Schoon was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Southfield Christian got a massive performance out of Taniya Hall, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Sarah Sherry was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Southfield Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkway Christian only posted an OBP of .400.

Southfield Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Parkway Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6.

Southfield Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-2 win against Redford Union on the 9th. As for Parkway Christian, they will square off against Cardinal Mooney Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
