Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot had won two straight home games and Molly Hamner did her part to make it three on Wednesday. The Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights came out on top against the Isle of Wight Academy Chargers by a score of 44-34 thanks in part to Hamner, who posted 20 points and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Poore, who earned seven points and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Isle of Wight Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot has already played their next contest, a 61-42 defeat against Westover Christian Academy on the 6th. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they will welcome Suffolk Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
