Softball Recap: West Carter Comes Up Short

West Carter fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Nicholas County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bluejackets by a score of 13-12. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comets of the 14-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

West Carter now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Nicholas County, their record now sits at 3-10.

Coming up, West Carter will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mason County at 6:00 p.m. As for Nicholas County, they will face off against Harrison County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thorobreds/Fillies' pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so the Bluejackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
