Baseball Recap: Clover Blue Eagles vs. James F. Byrnes Rebels
Clover extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 14-13 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the James F. Byrnes Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-6 on Monday.
Carson Politsch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was TJ McCluney, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
As for James F. Byrnes, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-11. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
On James F. Byrnes' side, the team relied heavily on Connor Crenshaw, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hulehan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
