Volleyball Recap: Springfield Southeast Comes Up Short

Springfield Southeast was the 2-0 winner over Lanphier when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 25-19 in the first set.

Springfield Southeast started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Springfield Southeast still got an impressive performance from Josey Grant, who had 16 digs and two assists.

Springfield Southeast dropped their record down to 6-18 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Lanphier, their win ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-21.

Springfield Southeast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Rochester on the 14th. As for Lanphier, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against East St. Louis on the 10th.
