Softball Recap: Phillips Bears vs. Hackleburg Panthers
Thursday just wasn't the day for Phillips's offense. They fell victim to a rough 16-0 defeat at the hands of the Hackleburg Panthers on Thursday. Phillips has not had much luck with Hackleburg recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
For Hackleburg's part, Braylynn Pope was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Carson Browning was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Phillips' loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Hackleburg, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-9-2.
