Niles North faced Lincoln-Way East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings fell just short of the Griffins by a score of 2-1. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Niles North was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lincoln-Way East work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 27-25, 15-10.

When it comes to explaining why Niles North lost, don't look at Rafael dan Bartilad. Despite the final result, he had 24 digs and two assists.

Niles North's loss dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Lincoln-Way East, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 21 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.
