Softball Recap: Palisades Beats Catasauqua for Their Fifth Straight Win

Palisades had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They never let the Catasauqua Rough Riders get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly 15 runs.

Karlye Teman was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Catie Russo was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Deem, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Palisades always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catasauqua only posted an OBP of .133.

Palisades pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Catasauqua, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Palisades will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rough Riders: the pair will be back at it again later today.
