Volleyball Recap: Nazareth Academy Finds Home Court Redemption Against Metea Valley

There's no place like home for Nazareth Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Metea Valley Mustangs 2-1. For the Roadrunners, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Nazareth Academy got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 26-28, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Metea Valley still got an impressive performance from Ava Guzaski, who had 12 digs and one assist. Raina Parekh also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

With the victory, Nazareth Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-12. As for Metea Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5.

Looking ahead, Nazareth Academy will venture away from home to take on St. Francis on Tuesday. As for Metea Valley, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Minooka on the 20th.
