The Arroyo Dons will head out on the road to square off against the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Arroyo's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Mt. Eden 10-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dons.
The result came thanks to Sadie Fernandez's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Hailey Howard was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Aaliyah Wadley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Arroyo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bishop O'Dowd's hitters rose to the challenge against a Spartans pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.3 runs allowed on Friday. Bishop O'Dowd was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Pinole Valley. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Emma Brown, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Pinole Valley off the board. Brown has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jaella Mercado was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tulip Barnes, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Bishop O'Dowd has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. The win got Arroyo back to even at 3-3.
Bishop O'Dowd's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Arroyo has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Bishop O'Dowd, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Arroyo keep running through batters, or will Bishop O'Dowd buck the trend?
Arroyo couldn't quite finish off Bishop O'Dowd in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can Arroyo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
