Soccer Game Preview: Odessa vs. Middletown

The Odessa Ducks will head out to face off against the Middletown Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Odessa is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let William Penn get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Odessa, who have now won eight games by five goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Middletown faced Indian River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Cavaliers had just enough and edged out the Indians 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for Middletown, who have now won four contests in a row.

The win made it two in a row for Odessa and bumps their season record up to 10-5. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Middletown, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.

Odessa might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Middletown in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Ducks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
