Basketball Game Preview: Poolesville Falcons vs. Damascus Hornets

Poolesville hasn't had much luck against Damascus recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Poolesville Falcons will square off against the Damascus Hornets. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Poolesville is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since January 25th on Friday. They fell just short of New Hope Academy Regional by a score of 60-57. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Tigers are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Damascus got the win against Clarksburg last Friday by a conclusive 58-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Damascus now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Poolesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Poolesville was able to grind out a solid victory over Damascus in their previous meeting back in February, winning 53-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poolesville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
